The Art Department offers a wide variety of courses, giving students a broad exposure to art. Our programs offer a place to be inspired, to consider visions for the future, and to explore individuality and expression and applied creativity. By taking these courses students will be able to find an area of interest that they may want to pursue after high school.

Visual Arts students have many opportunities to exhibit their work including within the showcases at school, the Fine Arts Festival and at galleries such as Art on Main and the Walkover Gallery in Bristol.

Sea-Ramics

Students in Ceramics One classes created these fish sculptures by wrapping slabs of moist clay around a newspaper armature and adding fins and habitat elements.

The pieces were bisque fired in the kiln to about 1900 degrees F.

Usually a ceramics piece would be glazed and refired. We, instead, painted the fired clay with acrylic paints.
